ANNOUNCEMENTS
SAINT BONAVENTURE HOUSE OF STUDIES TRAVELS TO CALIFORNIA: In partnership with All Saints American Catholic Church, Carlsbad CA, we will facilitate a Day of Study and Reflection on Saturday, February 18, 2012. The topic is A CONFUSION OF TONGUES: THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PLURALISM FOR EVANGELICAL CATHOLIC WITNESS, OUTREACH AND EVANGELISM. See details.
MID WEEK MASS DISCONTINUED FOR THE TIME BEING: Each member of the Community has experienced an increase in responsibilities variously as students, administrators, educators and institution builders. When regular Wednesday Masses became difficult to sustain on a regular basis, we shifted to Thursday. It turns out that our week day schedules in general are the problem. Thus we have decided to gather for weekly worship only on Sunday mornings at 10:30. At the end of the year we will see whether our lives have become less cluttered and if so we will expand our worship opportunities accordingly.
THE COMMUNITY OF SAINT FRANCIS is the local Chicago house of the Franciscans of Reconciliation, a religious order in the Ecumenical Catholic Communion. Each member of the community is engaged in individual social ministries and we are collectively involved in an educational ministry, St. Bonaventure House of Studies (which includes scholars beyond the community, the order, and the communion). We gather for Mass at 10:30 am Sunday mornings and 6 pm Thursday evenings. All are invited and welcome to worship with us. For more information and directions to our House Mass, please call 773-720-1040 or send an e-mail
