THE MERRY MONTH OF MAY, 2010
AT THE COMMUNITY OF ST. FRANCIS, CHICAGO

MAY HAS BEEN A VERY INTERESTING MONTH

We had visitors from another part of the ECC (Fr. Fred Ball and Sr. Sarah Ball form San Damiano, Little Rock) and received a new member into the community (Fr. Liam Nioclás Kelly, OFR, formerly of the Evangelical Catholic Church and in the process of incardination into the ECC). Fred Presided at the Eucharist where Nioclás was received on May 15. It was the last mass in the living room.

Front Row: Bunny McFarland, Deacon Jeannine Singleton OFR, Fr. Fred Ball OEF,
Fr. Nioclás Kelly OFR, Br. Frank Canizares OSF
Back Row: George Michael, Sr. Sarah Ball OEF, Bp. Rafe Adams OSF, Joseph Perry, William Cordero,
Fr. Rick McFarland, Fr. Robert Farra

Thanks to the generosity of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Chicago, and the hospitality of the other communities who worship there (St. Elias Arabic Lutheran Church, Church of Jesus Christ the Reconciler) we moved into a lovely venue where we celebrate Mass on May 22.

The Next morning some of us joined the combined communities who worship at Immanuel for a great Pentecost Eucharist, followed by a procession through the neighborhood. We stopped at four stations, Where we proclaimed the Word of God and prayed for a cessation of violence, justice for the poor, and help for those in need.

We'll see what June brings.
